How RoleUp works

Three steps, about ten minutes. You keep control of every word before you send anything.

  1. Step 1

    Upload your CV

Send us the CV you already use, as a PDF or a Word document — or simply paste the text. It is analysed privately and stays in your account.

    • · No rewriting needed before you start
    • · You can replace the file at any point
    • · Nothing is shared with employers automatically
  2. Step 2

    Add the vacancy

Paste the full Belgian job description. Add the company, job title and language so the analysis matches what the employer actually asked for.

    • · Works with Dutch, French and English vacancies
    • · Optional link and deadline
    • · We read the requirements, not just the keywords
  3. Step 3

    Receive your application pack

You get a match report with honest scoring, a tailored CV, a cover letter, skills suggestions and interview preparation in the language you choose.

    • · Every strength is backed by a line from your CV
    • · Gaps are named clearly instead of hidden
    • · You can edit and copy everything

Visas, work permits and diplomas

Many strong candidates are filtered out because their right to work is unclear on paper. Here is what Belgian employers look for, and how RoleUp helps you show it.

EU, EEA or Swiss citizens

You can work in Belgium without a work permit. You register with your commune and receive an EU residence document (annex 8 / E card).

Documents to have ready

  • Passport or national ID card
  • Proof of registration at your commune (annex 19 or E card)
  • National register number (rijksregisternummer / numéro de registre national)

How RoleUp helps: RoleUp writes the eligibility line for your CV and cover letter in the wording Belgian recruiters expect, so nobody wrongly assumes you need sponsorship.

Non-EU citizens — single permit

For work longer than 90 days the employer applies for a single permit (gecombineerde vergunning / permis unique) at the region where you will work: Flanders, Brussels or Wallonia.

Documents to have ready

  • Valid passport
  • Signed employment contract meeting the regional salary threshold
  • Diploma or proof of professional experience for the role
  • Medical certificate and police clearance certificate
  • Employer's application file to the regional employment authority

How RoleUp helps: The match report tells you whether the vacancy expects an existing permit or is open to sponsorship, and gives you the sentence to ask the employer about it.

Already in Belgium with a residence card

Your card (A, B, F, F+, K, L, or a student or orientation-year card) states whether you have unlimited access to the labour market. Recognised refugees, people with subsidiary protection and long-term residents work without a permit.

Documents to have ready

  • Residence card, both sides — the labour-market note matters
  • Annex 15 if your card is being renewed
  • Rijksregisternummer / numéro de registre national

How RoleUp helps: We put your right-to-work status on the first page of the tailored CV in one clear line, so recruiters stop screening you out by mistake.

Diploma recognition and regulated jobs

Nursing, care, teaching, accountancy, law and several technical trades require your foreign diploma to be recognised — NARIC-Vlaanderen in Flanders, the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles service in Brussels and Wallonia.

Documents to have ready

  • Original diploma plus a sworn translation
  • Transcript of subjects and study hours
  • Proof of professional experience and any registration abroad
  • Recognition decision (gelijkwaardigheid / équivalence) once received

How RoleUp helps: If a vacancy requires a recognised diploma you do not yet have, we mark it as a blocker instead of hiding it, and suggest the roles you can apply for while recognition is running.

Language requirements

Flanders works in Dutch, Wallonia in French, Brussels in both, and international employers in English. Vacancies express levels as A1-C2 or as 'goede kennis' / 'bonne connaissance'.

Documents to have ready

  • Language certificates (CNaVT, Selor, DELF/DALF, IELTS, TOEFL)
  • Proof of courses at CVO, Huis van het Nederlands, Actiris or Forem

How RoleUp helps: We read the real level the vacancy asks for, compare it with what your CV evidences, and never claim a level you have not stated.

RoleUp is not a law firm and this is general information, not legal advice. Always confirm your situation with your commune, your regional employment service (VDAB, Actiris, Forem) or a recognised immigration lawyer.

Honest AI, not invented experience

RoleUp improves how you present your real experience. It does not guarantee interviews or employment and will never intentionally add qualifications you have not provided.
